The Lochside Press News from around the Clyde sea lochs
SPT tried to portray it as the panacea for problems with Kilcreggan s ferry link to Gourock, while the Scottish Government has long been demanding investment in it as a shovel-ready infrastructure project.
But it s hard to imagine that any planners could approve professional courier such a huge, ugly structure next to the village s most iconic structure, and if they did, few locals would share the consultants confidence that it will survive the waves and tides on that shore.
When Clydelink sailinsg are cancelled because of weather, it is normally strong winds at Gourock that are cited so if the study s proposals went ahead, 500,000 of public money would be spent without making the ferry service much more reliable.
The professional courier plans for Dunoon have predictably attracted most of the speculation, although since the figure of 2m has regularly been bandied about we can only assume that Kilcreggan would have been included as well.
There is still enormous pressure for a car ferry service to be reinstated at Dunoon, and the Herald has speculated that constituency MSP Mike Russell would be electoral toast if he supported pontoons instead.
The Cowal Courier speculated that the pontoons study would be unveiled by Nicola Sturgeon when she visited Dunoon last month, professional courier only for the visit to be cancelled because, ironically, ferries were cancelled and roads closed professional courier by bad weather.
Shovel-ready professional courier ? Hardly. Before any more money is wasted, our local and national politicians need to realize that the problem is not our piers, which have been doing service for many decades, but small, light boats which are just not suited to these waters.
December 22, 2012 • 12:45 pm
As a resident of Cove, and wheelchair user, I corresponded with SPT over the tendering process and the replacement ferry. The tender specifications said all the right things about mobility access (pushchairs, walking difficulties, wheelchair use), but, as with many things, the temptation of making 200+k savings was just too much and the specifications were ignored professional courier in various respects including accessibility. Wthin the correspondence, SPT mentioned professional courier that future use of pontoons was being considered. The purpose of my making this comment is the final sentence in your news article, where you say that the problem is not our piers, professional courier but the unsuitability of small light boats in local waters. Whilst the boat problem is undoubtedly true and the coming winter weather is about to prove that over and over again – professional courier please be aware that there is a problem professional courier for wheelchair users and others with mobility issues connected with the piers, which pontoons would deal with. Andrew
I seem to recall a rather large admiralty professional courier pier at Cove rd Gourock albeit a bit rundown which could be used for ferries with a bit of upgrade. Historicallyu Cardwell BAy was used for small hovercraft as well so there are options.
Fair point Andrew, and I remember a rather bogus argument about access being made in favour of the Seabus. How is current access at Gourock though? If this carefully hidden study says pontoons there are too expensive, is there any point even thinkng about Kilcreggan? Happy to be corrected on that. Can’t help wondering though how long certain people have known about this and chosen to carry on giving a false impression professional courier that it’s a magic cure all,
Absolutely no point in doing anything to improve accessat Kilcreggan, without also fixing any access problemsGourock. I’m not being flippant it’s a serious issue but, as I’ve never got further than the end of the pier at Kilcreggan, I don’t know what access professional courier is possible at Gourock. But, for those who know that landing, professional courier the question is what difference the tides make to the slope/gradient of the ramp between boat and pier, and whether a pontoon or some other measure is best to counteract that variation between high tide and low tide. I also understand that there are lots of steps in all circumstances at the Gourock pier, so that would also be an issue for wheelchair users, pushchair pushers and people with mobility difficulties. We got someone to the moon more than 40 years ago now, Virgin Space is about to launch commercial flights into the stratosphere, but getting an accessible ferry service from Kilcreggan to Gourock (or even just a regular service on inaccessible professional courier ferries) …………………….etc, etc
I find it pretty depressing that a report like this makes no mention of the fact the whole Gourock seafront is due to be redeveloped at huge cost in the next few years, or that there may be cost saving available from combining this activity with construction of a durable ferry quay that is pleasing to behold and accessible by all. The feeble offering of a pontoon placed exactly where the existing boarding steps are is risible.

An unconfirmed and unofficial account of this meeting was published online, asserting that, at the meeting. Mr Neil informed german courier company those present that he had ‘told’ Argyll Ferries to replace the MV Ali Cat on the route with a vehicle and passenger boat.
This gave rise to substantial local expectations over the weekend that the Dunoon Ferries Action german courier company Group had won its case; and that Dunoon was to see the return of the second vehicle service between the two destinations for which it has so vigorously, if so irrationally, fought.
Unable to believe that, in the light of the governing legal context, the Cabinet Secretary could have said any such thing – but willing to accept that in the world we live in, legal constraints might have been circumvented or reinterpreted, we set out to establish the facts.
‘A website in Cowal has recently published an account of a meeting last week, in which account it asserts that Cabinet Secretary Alex Neil assured those present – including Michael Russell MSP, Argyll Ferries, Archie Robertson CEO of David MacBrayne Ltd and a constituent of Mr Russell’s – that he had ‘told’ Argyll Ferries to replace the MV Ali Cat with a vehicle and passenger ferry on the Gourock Dunoon route.
‘In terms of the full legal context german courier company of the Argyll Ferries contract, we cannot see that the Cabinet Secretary can have so instructed Argyll Ferries – and therefore cannot have said what he is alleged to have said.
‘What specification would be required to ensure that the requirements german courier company of European Law would be observed in preventing any actual or hidden cross-subsidisation of the vehicle service (which is illegal) by the passenger german courier company service (which may legally be subsidised)?
‘We german courier company look forward to a timely response from you on a matter which is clearly german courier company in the present consciousness of both the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and the Transport Minister, meaning that such issues must already be clear to them and are guiding their words and actions.’ The Scottish Government response
‘Following concerns raised locally regarding the certification and use of the MV AliCat on the Gourock-Dunoon ferry service, the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment, Alex Neil chaired a meeting in Glasgow last week to fully consider and discuss the issues.
‘The meeting was attended german courier company by the Chair and Chief Executive of Argyll german courier company Ferries Limited (AFL); senior representatives of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA); Transport Scotland staff; Captain Sandy Ferguson, a retired CalMac senior member of staff and adviser to the Dunoon-Gourock Ferry Action Group; and Mike Russell, in his capacity as the local constituency MSP.
‘The MCA representatives explained their recent action in serving an Improvement german courier company Notice on AFL and the AFL attendees confirmed their full acceptance of the issues set out in the Improvement Notice.
‘Mr Neil was pleased to note that AFL have already acted and implemented improvements to address all of the issues raised. Mr Neil made it absolutely clear that AFL must fully accept the terms of the Notice, in order to restore confidence to the local users. The MCA agreed to Mr Neil s request for an ongoing quarterly review to ensure that the MV AliCat was being operated by AFL in strict accordance with the certification issued german courier company by the MCA.
‘Work on the three-point plan announced by Alex Neil back in Dunoon on 14 February continues, with the steering group bringing together local campaigners, local councillors and the Cabinet Secretary. A number of meetings have been held to discuss matters and move the issues forward.
‘The terms of reference for this study have been developed with the full involvement of the local Ferry Action Group and the two local Councils. One issued the study will explore is how vessels could be provided and financed. The study will report by the end of the year.’ Analysis
This official statement, which is formally on the record, does not – because it cannot – say that the Cabinet Secretary said at last week’s meeting that he had ‘told’ Argyll german courier company Ferries to replace the Ali Cat with a vehicle and passenger ferry.
It allies to that, a commitment to ‘working towards a permanent solution for the service.’ That does not imply or indicate any specific permanent solution; and there can be no doubt that the government will be relieved when it can lay this matter german courier company to rest.

In publishing fedex argentina the latest set of performance statistics today – given below, a spokesperson for Argyll Ferries – providing the passenger shuttle service between the town centres of Gourock and Dunoon, says:
‘Out of 1621 sailings a tiny number – 4 - were lost due to bad weather; and the week in which the service was reduced to a single vessel due to the refit of the MV Argyll Flyer passed off uneventfully.( Ed: The impact of this refit on the service schedule was also well pre-advertised by the company .)
‘This clearly demonstrates that the criticism of the service from some quarters is grossly unfair and undermining the efforts of those in Cowal who are working hard to bring visitors to the area.’

According to the Cowal Courier it would cost 1.5 million for a second hand replacement fedex argentina ferry, and up to 5 million for a new build passenger only ferry, and excuses for not using spare car ferries on the route. There fedex argentina seems to be a hidden agenda for this route.
There does not seem to be any hidden agenda in trying to get ferries that can work. Do you mean there was a hidden fedex argentina agenda behind the SNP not delivering the promised vehicle ferries and so giving Western an extra 60,000 vehicle crossings a year?
Of course they didn’t actually sail did they, despite the claimed 100%. No, from the 28/May to 3/Jun there was only a half service. You remember, the nice fine weather and the Jubilee weekend when people might possibly have wished to visit a seaside town for a break to spend some money and help the local economy. fedex argentina
At the recent meeting with Alex Neil I produced from one website some 17 car and passenger ferries 12 year old an under capable of carrying around 30 cars and 300 passengers that were for sale under 2m. For Argyll Ferries to say that the criticism of their service is grossly unfair ignores the fact that in April alone the 91 weather cancellations compares with the 52 weather fedex argentina cancellations that the streakers had in three years. Hardly a reliable service or one that meets the requirements of an Essential public service i.e. one that connects with another essential public service – the trains.
More importantly why is there a half service for four weeks each year? The old service had relief vessels during service periods, who in Transport Scotland thought these were not needed on the new service? Imagine if the rail companies ran a half timetable every year so they could service rollingstock.
What is going to happen for Cowal Games? Last year they used the Saturn. In APRIL there were 91 weather cancellations, they still cancelled in May, and now in June we have weather cutting the service in half. The Cowal Games are a period when many people wish to visit the town centre on foot. If normal August weather hits the service then it will be very serious.
“May was excellent 100% reliability”. fedex argentina Come on newsroom make a comment, what smells very strange about that figure? Have you given up completely on the idea of being a news and information service? Are you not even a blog but just a clandestine fedex argentina paid advertising/propaganda service?
Part of that week, mon/tue/wed/thu was in May, but the Argyll Flyer was contracted to be serviced in June. Even if somebody wanted to service it in June why pick the week of the Jubilee, why not the end of the month.

Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, is in Dunoon today, meeting with the Dunoon Gourock Ferries Action Group to discuss the draft feasibilty study on a return of a vehicle and passenger ferry service to the route between the two town centres.
Although we have been told about some of its contents by some supporters, of the group we will not comment on it until we have the study when it is released; and until we have had time to review it in its entirely and consider what precisely it is saying.

The SNP Release refers to our article

“Good morning, I have tried to contact you by telephone but it has been engaged and I can’t hang around skynet courier for a ringback request as have to make a series of other calls on other matters today.
“I am contacting you regarding complaints about FA’s reference to SNP members behaving like ‘thugs’ at the Better Together event in Dunoon. I will be publishing an article regarding these complaints and this message is by way of offering FA a right to reply, in the interests of balance and fairness. Please see below the contents of the media release issued by the Holy Loch branch of the SNP. The Courier’s article will be published tomorrow morning, so if you could get back to me today I would be much obliged.
“Holy Loch SNP are outraged at the description in the widely discredited online skynet courier newspaper FOR ARGYLL of the chairman of Holy Loch SNP and Councillor Gordon Blair as thugs following their attendance at the Better Together launch in Dunoon skynet courier Grammar School on Monday.
“ We no longer subscribe to FOR ARGYLL but we were alerted to this appalling attack on Gordon and myself by a disgusted member of the public who had also attended the Better Together launch said SNP Holy Loch chairman Jimmy Bell and I know nobody less likely to deserve to be described as a thug than Councillor Blair.
“The Holy Loch SNP branch, meeting in Sandbank on Tuesday night, agreed to contact FOR ARGYLL and demand an immediate retraction of the report and an apology. Reporting on the Better skynet courier Together meeting Councillor Blair said We didn t get the answers we were looking for at the meeting, mainly because we were not allowed to ask any questions that was liable to create major difference among those on the panel, but, that apart, the meeting was well conducted in a non confrontational manner and all credit to the Better Together organisers for that.
The SNP Release refers to our article “ Revelations Galore at the pro-union launch “. If you read aforesaid article you’ll find no reference to Messers Blair and Bell in these terms. At all .
The skynet courier problem we think is that ForArgyll.com continues to be the most widely read online news source in Argyll with an average 5,000 page views a day, and we make no bones about being critical of the SNP in Argyll, particularly about behaviour which falls below acceptable standards in public life and trying to sweep pro-union literature into a bin at the end of any public skynet courier meeting, let alone a pro-union one, is extraordinary behaviour in anyone’s book. We also think threatening action via a press release over a misquote doesn’t quite cut the mustard either.
(Oh and David, please quote from “The Press Release refers skynet courier … ” to “… doesn’t quite cut the mustard either.” in its entirety if you wish to use our response. skynet courier Or if that takes up too much page space, do feel free to link to this article, as it says all that needs to be said we’d be obliged.)
short and sweet says:
…”We also think threatening action via a press release over a misquote doesn t quite cut the mustard either.”…carefull F.A. using big words like “misquote” skynet courier will have these idiots e-mailing salmond, skynet courier sturgeon and russell claiming that you’re suggesting entomological warfare in this debacle.Just reading over this post, I suppose a russell is a kind of fish somewhere or just fishy? How many of these idiots failed to get into the Spanish army? P.S. sorry, need I say anything regarding their antics at the mention of “mustard” in the same sentence?
H2O, water you on about? skynet courier it would appear that your question is directed skynet courier at me but despite being clever enough to gain entry into the Spanish skynet courier army (several times) I can’t for the life of me fathom out what in my post could be in “a sexual sense” Please explain Ta!
..a wee bit underhand there H20, Ritchie’s name was not in the reply thus giving the impression that the reply was directed at me. By editing the name in after my query without an explanation makes me look a wee bit stupid skynet courier eh no? even more so now that the pejorative term that you consider may have sexual connotations has been deleted, some of us more innocent may have thought it may have been a reference to the recent Cowal games activities
not that I give a toss but I can’t see anything in my two posts that would merit any thumb jesture?? would any of the thumbers please explain. I would cordially suggest that so

The tone was somewhat different to another meeting that had been held two days previously

Wings Over Scotland | The voices of the people
It’s a recording of a meeting held by Clydebank TUC earlier this month on the subject of whether the working class should support independence. star track track and trace The working class is the sector of the Scottish star track track and trace public whose voice is least heard in the debate (which is largely dominated by middle-class media-intellectual sorts), and perhaps not coincidentally is the demographic which tends to favour independence most strongly.
The deputy leader of Labour in Scotland is clearly shocked at his reception throughout the 250-strong meeting, in one of Labour’s most traditional heartlands. He probably shouldn’t be, as it’s star track track and trace less than a year since his colleague Jackie Baillie got a pretty hostile response in the same town , but she had an easy ride by comparison.
(The sound quality star track track and trace of the film isn’t the best, and much of the time the cacophony from the crowd renders his words inaudible, but the full text can be found on the Labour website star track track and trace . The word “SNP” appears nine times, the words “socialism” or “socialist” not at all. Although interestingly he says “independence” throughout rather than “separation” .)
The crowd’s star track track and trace fury, apart from one woman with what appeared to be an English accent shouting aggressively at SNP MSP Linda Fabiani, star track track and trace was almost all directed at Sarwar. As a man more used to the kid-gloves treatment from compliant BBC and STV interviewers, star track track and trace he was clearly badly thrown, and afterwards resorted to playing the “anti-English” card in response to a single idiot calling the English star track track and trace woman a “bitch” star track track and trace and telling her to “go home” , though it wasn’t clear that the man meant “to England” .
The tone was somewhat different to another meeting that had been held two days previously – the launch of “Better Together Cowal” in Dunoon. According to a Wings reader who attended the event, approximately 60 souls (BT carefully avoided making any claims about numbers , or showing any photographs of the audience ) turned up to hear speakers from all three Unionist parties and a couple of members of the public.
Our spy recorded the event, but the audio is even worse than that of the Clydebank TUC meeting, and it’s only intermittently possible to make out what people are saying. One moment towards the end of the hour-long event does stand out, though, and we’ll leave it to the person who was there to describe it.
“The loudest cheer and longest applause star track track and trace of the evening was in response to the Better Together youth representative s declaration that the Romans couldn t be bothered to occupy Scotland because having marched its length and breath they found it was useless . Callow youth he may be; but this childish star track track and trace assertion brought the house down and, tellingly, remained unchallenged by any other member of the panel.”
You can hear it from 49m 50s on the recording , and you can read the rest of our reporter’s account here . It paints an interesting picture of two very different crowds – one unrestrained in its fury at what Scotland is being told to settle for, and another revelling in tales of their own nation’s feeble ineptitude, while delivering the message that only English voters can decide what’s best for Scotland and that we should be grateful to have billions of pounds of Scottish taxpayers’ money spent on HS2, a railway line that won’t come within 200 miles of Scotland.
I’d really like to watch your video clips, but living as I do in rural Fife, my ‘broad’ band is so feeble that I cannot. Can we have a campaign for decent star track track and trace broadband across Scotland, please?
Wow, I stay in Dunoon and had no idea BT were doing a ‘launch’! Did get a couple of leaflets (full of pish) through the door from them yesterday. Wonder who that brain-washed youth might be?
And yet they live in this useless place and revel in demeaning it to the extent that they campaign for it to be ruled by an uncaring Westminster government. I think, to be honest, if these people were around in the Roman times, the Romans would have backed away slowly thinking, “FFS, they’re all bonkers around here”.
@ Richard Absolutely! Exact same problem here in Angus. star track track and trace They say they’re aiming for a saturation of 95% broadband. I can only assume they’re referring to population and not area. That’s not good enough. My phone is on the One Plan from 3 and that’s fast enough for me but unfortunately I don’t star track track and trace get a signal at my house. Anyway, good article Stu and I know who I stand with too. I wonder if these unionists ever actually leave this island and if they do if they ever notice how the world seems to work pretty well without being in a union with England. Sickening people who would, in many parts of

On Monday this week Biddy Simpson from Archaeology Scotland came to pay us a visit to discuss the archaeological sites in Stronafian Forest, and in Glendaruel in general. It’s clear people have lived in the glen for 1,000’s and 1,000’s of years!
Specifically we were discussing how the Adopt-a-Monument scheme can support us when we own the forest, and therefore are responsible for, the archaeological sites within it. I took Biddy up to the chambered cairn that is more or loss above the Clachan. (Thanks to Charles McLaughlin for showing me the way up the old forestry track last month!) She was very impressed by the size and seeming complexity courier mail qld of the cairn. We also went to look at the cup marked rocks in the woods near the Clachan Burn.
The Adopt-a-Monument courier mail qld scheme aims to support community groups in preserving, improving access to, and interpreting historical sites. Biddy will be reporting back to us on her thoughts from her visit, and what we should be doing next to make the most of these fascinating assets.

The company tiempost run the passenger ferry shuttle service of 60 sailings a day between the rail head from Glasgow at Gourock and Dunoon in the Cowal peninsula, tiempost where the celebrated Cowal Gathering takes place.
An Argyll Ferries spokesperson says: ‘We are delighted to be able to bring in the MV Clyde Clipper to meet the demand on what is our busiest day of the year. The combined capacity tiempost of the three vessels is well in excess of 700, ensuring that no-one will have to wait too long in either direction.
We are aware of local speculation around the possible deployment of the MV Coruisk which is currently operating between Mallaig and Armadale. This was ruled out, not just because she has her own route to serve but because the MV Clyde Clipper s capacity is virtually the same and will allow much quicker turnarounds which are vital on such a busy day.’
Argyll Ferries are encouraging travellers tiempost to come early if they can to beat the rush. They are also reminding tiempost anyone travelling to Gourock by rail that a joint rail/ferry ticket, which is cheaper, is available from stations.
The last sailing will be from Dunoon at 23.00hrs. The late night sailings timetabled for Saturday have been cancelled to allow the ferries to operate constantly tiempost throughout the day. Sunday 26th August will have the normal timetable for that day.

Ferry off this afternoon, so transported by bus from Gourock Station to Western Ferries. Good you may think, but then when giving my return ticket to WF told I had to pay again as WF did not, even in this circumstance, accept Argyll Ferries return ticket. So have paid Argyll Ferries for journey which they were unable to provide. Can I claim for reimbusement? No way this service and these boats can be relied upon, I fear for Cowal Games.
To cover 700 passengers every hour it would require 20 minute crossings…a tough challenge given that it will take some time to get 230 passengers off in single file never mind the passengers who will leave Dunoon. Collecting 200 plus tickets may take longer than the 20 minute journey! If raining… think of the passengers after number 125 who will be upstairs out in the open for the duration of each crossing. They should not be charged. Imagine taking a 20-25 minute journey standing on a bus or train with no roof! Hopefully the wind and rain will not prevail on Cowal Games week as many visitng passengers will not come back.
Important though capacity is the main thing last year was that there was one vessel on the route, the MV Saturn, that could be depended on to run. This year there are going to be three bathtubs and they could all be off. Just as we have seen the service tiempost cancelled for most of today in perfectly normal weather for the season.
Newsroom (aka soapbox) you seem to be on quite an extended campaign about passenger ferries. You have not answered the question about whether or not ForArgyll has sponsors and, if it does, who they are?
And the A83 was open and not seen to be dangerous due to frequent landslip and rock fall which has happened more often this year than in the past 60 years. I hope we can sue Transport Scotland and AF for any shortfall in takings for this years games and spend in the town if the ferry service fails to deliver.
This is completely inadequate, Ferryman is right, its down on last year. 7oo per hour sounds ok over the day but the morning and evening periods will be really pressure. I remember the days when the two car ferries, the Waverley and the Glen Sannox struggled to keep up, I know these days are gone but with pipe band competitions delayed last year to allow bandsmen tiempost to get across this reduction in capacity doesnt bode well. People in Dunoon are calling for the Cheif Exec of Calmac to get his jotters because of the contempt he is showing our community not to mention the safety issues which despite For Argyll getting the wrong point on the issue now looks like will be a resigning issue. Concern is now mounting for the MOD and whether Cal mac as a major partner will scupper the event with their incompetence, or will the CEO get the bullet

Tonight’s three panellists have given us the basic texts of their 2-miiute statements to the audience; and we invited pro-independence figures to wrote their own 2-minute ersobal statements for us, so that we could present both positions in the same way at the same time.
The pro-union panellists, in order of speaking, were: Mary Galbraith. Labour candidate for the Argyll and Bute Westminster seat in the 2015 General Election; Jamie McGrigor, Highlands and Islands Conservative MSP and Argyll resident; Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll and Bute.
Those of two of the pro-independence political figures we invited are: Campbell Cameron, former SNP Councillor, Oban Town Centre Manager, Oban FM presenter and For Argyll’s Music Editor. Michael Russell, wcf courier SNP MSP for Argyll and Bute.
I grew up surrounded with distinctly Scottish culture. Here in Argyll Kintyre, just the other side of Loch Fyne. My father played the bagpipes, and the notable wcf courier piping families wcf courier of the area were close friends and regular visitors to our home. My mother s heritage is a Gaelic one, and she and her siblings sang at local and national Mòds from a young age. Ceilidhs in the house were standard fare – everyone had to do something, so I and my sisters found it entirely natural to join in.
As a child I did Highland dancing, singing Scots and Gaelic songs in the village choir, wcf courier and played the chanter. Trips to Cowal Games here in Dunoon were like an annual pilgrimage for our family we looked forward to the last weekend in August almost as much as the last week in December.
Later I was drawn to other Scottish cultural touchstones: A love of football for example, so I did several trips to Wembley when the Home Internationals were an annual feature. Then I persuaded the man who became my husband to holiday in Italy. In 1990. And follow Scotland to yet another glorious World Cup exit ! The experience wcf courier didn t put us off either; wcf courier we ve done ten foreign expeditions to see Scotland at the last count.
By then I had joined the Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association choir, and so when my girls were born I became active in Comann nam Pàrant, the Gaelic parent s association, wcf courier latterly as convener. I m very proud to have led the parent body in its campaign to set up Scotland s first all-Gaelic wcf courier school in 1999. Then we also established wcf courier the highly successful 3-18 Gaelic School in 2006 the fastest-growing school in Scotland.
Obviously it s different for others: There are as many personal recipes for being Scottish as there are people content to call themselves Scottish. This is simply my story. It s who I am. And I don t need any constitutional change to feel one iota more Scottish.
And just as important to my Scottish wcf courier identity is my sense of belonging: To Britain, and the UK. It s like a family I m incredibly wcf courier proud to belong to. With its reputation for creativity, tolerance, humour and integrity. We in Scotland all get to be part of something bigger, like a club, with the membership wcf courier benefits that this brings. Just like people in Wales, Northern Ireland and England benefit too. Each brings its own distinctive cultures and perspectives. And everybody gains.
So last year I was so proud to cheer all British athletes at the Olympics and Paralympics. We all wanted David Weir to win just as much as Chris Hoy. And team events, in rowing and cycling are simply the epitome of how joining together we can achieve so much more. Shared expertise, like the national training centres, and joint endeavour, like the elite UK teams, have helped Scots – and other British athletes – get sporting success.
This shared endeavour model is just as true in business, universities, the NHS, charities, broadcasting so much of what we hold dear. It s not any lack of independence that holds us back. Every single one of us is independent wcf courier already: it s is a state of mind. Each of us is in charge of our own destinies. By choosing to collaborate we learn and achieve more.
The future for everyone in Scotland wcf courier is all about offering our young people the chance to achieve. Whether to pursue a career as an athlete or nurse, engineer or accountant, by keeping open the avenues of study, qualification and employment, across the UK, we give them opportunities to succeed. Separating Scotland from the rest of the Britain can only diminish their prospects.
So for all our futures young people charting their way in the world, pensioners securing their financial well-being, and families seeking affordable wcf courier homes whether in Dunoon or Doncaster wcf courier we stay stronger

With a strict one hour time limit for completing the course, the race will begin in Argyll Street, running up John Street before climbing the Camel s Hump and returning along the main road, before finishing in the stadium. franch express
It’s part of a Forestry Commission trail and is a popular walk in the area, with great views across the Holy Loch from the top of the hump. It’s behind the Dunoon Stadium where much of the Cowal Gathering takes place.

‘In particular, we are working closely with the Glasgow courier services and West of Scotland Pipe Band Association in a bid to enhance the pipe band competition and bring the fun back for the many hundreds of pipe bandsmen and women from all over the world who come to compete here.
‘We ve taken on board suggestions made by both competitors and spectators, courier services and we also have a few other ideas up our sleeve to ensure that the 2014 Cowal Highland Gathering will once again prove to be one of Scotland s top family events.
‘We look forward to announcing the details of this year s games over the next few months, but it will of course include the usual mix of Highland dancing, pipe bands, traditional wrestling, heavy athletics, ceilidh music and children s entertainment.
Had the organisers listened to the many complaints and suggestions from the pipe bands over the years – on the physical and practical arrangements around the Cowal Pipe Band Championships, they would not have lost the fifth major pipe band championships of the year.
And For Argyll would echo Ronnie Chairs encouragement for everyone to keep these dates free in their diaries. This is a fabulous event – and the 2013 games already showed clear evidence of a spirited and creative response to the disappointment of losing the major pipe band championships. It sounds as if they have some interesting and novel ideas in the pipeline. courier services

After a new 100,000 courier services car park from the council to save the championship failed the Cowal Gathering are back to the council for an extra 40,000. Good luck with that. No-one would come to Dunoon if they read the daily crime reports on the Cowal Courier courier services blog.
The new car park cost 160,000. Ronnie Cairns courier services having lost the major championship is asking the council for 68,205 courier services next year. This was the amount the council offered to the RSPBA to bring a major to Dunoon. Dunoon is no different to all the other highland games and pipe championships in Argyll now so expect a long queue of councillors looking for extra money for their local events.
We all know that crime reports should be made public, but the CC is now basically a court reporting blog, and really is now doing harm to the area, with all their negative stories. Yes, they do publish an odd real story, but this is very seldom. Looking forward to this years games, and hoping for a decent turnout.
I’m not sure why the council should be putting so much into this? Surely this event has now established itself and you would think that it could stand on its own two feet by now? Where can we see a copy of the accounts ? I’d be interested to see where it all goes, as would many I would imagine.
I am sure we could debate this one until the cows come home .In my humble opinion the politics courier services of all of this meant a major had to go to Ireland and Cowal Games was sacrificed .However the real test will be how many Scottish Bands will be able to afford courier services to go to Ireland .Oban High Schools two bands will not be going .Where will they be going instead . Cowal Games . ,
Let’s get behind courier services this years games, perhaps try get the atmosphere back, think games was getting taken away from the people and turning into a corporate event.if you have time watch pathe news on cowal games. Could we have a camping area and perhaps courier services a concert at night, using castle toward or Johnstone farm, the stadium would be great to host concert but noise is a worry. Is there any point in saying bute relax street drinking laws during the games. Could the area at the doctors surgery be used for music or a party area

David Barton, at one end, is a present day senior pupil at the school and was one of the speakers. Rob Shorthouse at the other end, a former pupil, is Communications Director for the Better Together campaign.
The session was chaired pos malaysia track by Council Leader pos malaysia track Dick Walsh, with Alan Reid, Argyll and Bute’s MP; Jamie McGrigor, Highlands and Islands MSP and resident of Argyll; and Mary Galbraith the declared Labour candidate for the 2015 General Election. all joining David Barton on the speaking panel. pos malaysia track
The brief for the speakers was to give their personal reason for their pro-union position. With the exception of David Barton, who had not been identified in time, the speeches of the panel members pos malaysia track are published here below, along with similar but pro-independence contributions pos malaysia track from Michael Russell, Argyll and Bute’s MSP and Campbell Cameron, Oban’s Town Centre Manager.
Alan Reid’s pos malaysia track address was less personal than it was political – but then he has been steeped more deeply in politics pos malaysia track since his part became one of the coalition pos malaysia track partners in power at Westminster, pos malaysia track so he can be forgiven for being carried by the adrenaline of that ongoing experience.
Mary Galbraith proved someone whose rich family life, cultural background, experiences and practices ought to have marked her out pre-eminently as a nationalist – but she relishes and thrives in the texture of the ‘club’ that is the UK. Warm, alert, pos malaysia track amused pos malaysia track and quick thinking, she is going to be one to watch in the Westminster election campaign to come in 2015. Professionally she is an IT business professional, specialising in mergers and demergers, which, in his introduction of her, Councillor Walsh, pos malaysia track wittily noted ‘might come in handy’.
Jamie McGrigor perpetually overturns cliched expectations of Tories – because that’s not what he is. He was a naturally conversational and compelling speaker. Quick to pick up on Mary Galbraith’s fidelity to the brief of ‘being personal’ he departed from his planned speech [published below] off the cuff and refocused what he had to say. Because this was new material, we are including here an outline of what it was.
He spoke of his own family,Clan Gregor, devastatingly punished for their political loyalties by the retributive establishment of their day. Jamie McGrigor said simply that his family had ‘lost everything’, ‘even our name’ and had ended up ‘on a croft somewhere north of Tomintoul’. [For those unaware of the fate of Clan Gregor, Wikipedia has a useful summary .]
He pos malaysia track then sketched in the military service of three generations of his family, with one becoming a celebrated doctor in London. Linking this into his planned address, he finished by saying that he had two daughters, both living and working in England but both firmly Scots in identity. The advice he has given them is to be as proud as anything of their Scottishness but never to forget what the United Kingdom has done for their family. Moments of truth
The first slamming insight of the night came from that film. A young woman said: ‘When I go down there in the future, I don’t want to feel I don’t belong there or I’m not welcome’. This immediately brought into being the sense of unwanted alienation in which nothing thrives.
Then Rob Shorthouse, in his own opening remarks – emphasising the need to vote and not simply to express a view – described nationalism pos malaysia track as ‘an old fashioned pos malaysia track position’. He was talking about the 16 year-olds who will vote for the first time in the independence referendum. He was comparing the tight and defensive boundaries of nationalism with the freebooting global community of the internet which young people inhabit with a will. This was the second wake-up call of the night – the disjunction between the world of the young and the political confinement of a fortified world long gone.
David Barton then threw into the mix an instantly powerful practical predicament. Saying that he as aiming to go to University and then into the British armed services, he said: ‘But what will be possible for me if Scotland is independent? Will I get in to the UK services? pos malaysia track What’s out there for me? If I want to move south to work, will I be able to do that?’ The elephants in the room
There was a wrecking party present, which revealed itself when it came to Question tie. A phalanx of three tanks had positioned themselves early – in pole position, bang in the middle of the front r
